The Philadelphia Flyers have figured out the hard way, more than once already, that they made a monumental blunder in the 2019 draft. During that auction, when they had the 14th overall selection in the draft, the Pennsylvania outfit decided to set their sights on defenseman Cam York, rather than prolific All-American goal scorer Cole Caufield. If people in Montreal were particularly excited about Caufield's selection at No. 15 by the Habs, in Philly it was total disappointment. Was York a bad choice at the time? Not at all, as he has excellent potential. On the other hand, York is currently playing in the AHL, as the CH's number 22 hurt the Flyers once again with a two-goal, one-assist performance yesterday. The science of the draft is very unpredictable, and it's sometimes fascinating how in a short period of time, a bad move like the Flyers' in the 2019 draft has become a stroke of genius on the part of Habs management.
