For those who don't know, or don't remember, the Montreal Canadiens hold the Florida Panthers first round draft pick for the upcoming draft. This means that the results of the Panthers games have a direct impact on the Tricolore's second first round selection. Now, in the last few games, Florida has been playing big hockey, the team has overcome a multi-point deficit to move up in the race. They are now just one point out of the eighth and final playoff spot, which is bad news for the CH. However, the Toronto Maple Leafs gave the Habs a hell of a hand by winning their matchup with the Panthers in regulation time, burning off one remaining game for Florida. They now have only 10 games left to play to try and clinch a playoff spot. We have to hope very hard that this team doesn't succeed in this mission, which would allow the Canadiens to select twice in the top 15.
