The best trio mate for Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield has just been identified, and it's not Kirby Dach

Last year, we got to know Kirby Dach as a very solid winger who works well with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. Then he moved to center and that was even more impressive, even if the points didn't come as easily.

The reality is that number 77 is a big guy who can do anything on the ice. The Habs haven't had a center of his calibre in a long time, and that's good. His progress is excellent.

So it's understandable that Martin St-Louis wants to leave him at center, but who can complete the Suzuki / Caufield duo now?

According to many analysts and Cole himself, Sean Monahan would be an excellent candidate. Paired with the two youngsters on Wednesday, Monahan looked very good on the wing, even though he's a natural center.

Sean has a one-year contract, but imagine the scenario if the three of them complement each other and have a good season. He may want to stay with the CH longer than expected and continue to terrorize opposing defenses with his two young companions, provided he stays healthy.
