Michael Bunting's contract expires at the end of this season and there is no doubt that the 27 year old forward will be asking for a very large salary increase from his current $950,000 per year.

The Scarborough-born forward just completed his second season with the Leafs, finishing the year with 23 goals and 26 assists in 82 games. Last year, Bunting had an impressive 69 points in 79 games.

However, according to James Mirtle of The Athletic, it wouldn't be surprising if the forward isn't back with the team next year.

Indeed, according to the writer, Sheldon Keefe would no longer be able to handle his player's attitude, as he is known to have a hot temper:

"Sheldon Keefe has tried to reach Michael Bunting on a coaching level all season, but hasn't gone through."

You can't disagree with the Leafs head coach when you see the completely unnecessary move Bunting made on Erik Cernak in Game 1 of the playoffs. It is because of this blow to the head that the #58 was suspended for three games.
