By now, everyone knows that Jeff Petry is back in Montreal, but for how long? According to Eric Engels, there have already been talks about trading him elsewhere, but has Petry returned to Montreal against his will, just one year after leaving the organization? The answer is no. In fact, surprising as it may seem, the Canadiens weren't even on his list of 15 teams. Montreal was not on his no-trade list. It's confirmed. It's hard to understand. So, a year later, returning to Montreal wasn't a problem for Petry. However, since he signed his contract as a member of the CH, we still don't know if he had the right to modify his list in the final year. According to many, Petry's reasons for requesting a trade a year ago had to do with COVID restrictions. Now that these restrictions have been lifted, he and his family may well be happy to return to Montreal.

So Jeff Petry has a 15-team no-trade list and it really didn't include Montreal?
