Tomas Plekanec, soon to be 41, has just signed a new contract. The former Canadiens forward was his team's top scorer last year, with 49 points in 52 games. Although he'll be starting the season at 41, which is quite a feat in professional hockey, he won't even come close to being the oldest player on the team. Jaromir Jagr is 51 and still planning to play. Pleky will continue his professional career with the Kladno Knights. Having played 1,001 games in the NHL, he continues to perform and stay healthy, which has been the hallmark of his career. Negotiations took a little longer, but we're happy to have finally reached an agreement and Pleky will play another season with our jersey on his back. We all know how important Pleky is to us. - Jiri Burger, General Manager, Kladno Club

And he won't be the club's oldest player.
