We know how much the Lightning like to dig in Quebec to find promising young talent who have had their backs turned by other NHL teams.

Alex Barré-Boulet is one of them. The Quebecer has never been drafted and has been a real machine in the AHL for the past two years. However, something mysterious happened today.

"Alex Barre-Boulet was absent from Tampa Bay Lightning practice today. He was not put in the lineup.

If he's not injured, could he be involved in a trade?

Since turning pro in 2018-19, ABB is the second-highest scorer in the entire AHL with 284 PTS (in 271 games)."

- Jacob Stoller

This is very intriguing, because the Lightning haven't offered an update on his condition. He's part of the Lightning's 23-player roster.

Former Canadiens scout Grant McCagg took the opportunity to link the forward to the Canadiens. We know that Andrei Vasilevskiy is injured and will miss five to seven weeks starting today. Could Julien Brisebois be preparing a deal with Kent Hughes for Cayden Primeau?

That remains to be seen, especially since from what we've seen at the Habs' training camp, Cayden Primeau is the 3rd goaltender and will remain in the stands, at least for the start of the year.
