The Habs have far too many forwards, and there's no room for tourists this year. Mike Hoffman is certainly no longer part of the plans and has to go, but Kent Hughes will obviously have to pay to get rid of him, and then some. However, an exchange proposal has just surfaced, and it comes from Raphaël Doucet of La Poche Bleue. Indeed, he suggests that Hoffman leave for a 7th-round pick and that the Habs keep $1 million of his $4.5M salary.

Makes a lot of sense, when Hoffman could help a team in search of depth, while costing less. After all, if put in the right chair with an aspiring team, Hoffman is capable of scoring 20 goals. With the Habs, Hoffman doesn't belong in a top 6, and he's blocking a young player's spot, slowing down his progress.
