A frightening and violent event recently took place at a youth hockey game. Unbeknownst to everyone, both teams without warning began to have a free for all fight of sorts, and immediately begin pummelling each other for seemingly no reason. The event seems to have taken place in the third period, but exactly when is not as clear.
Feeble Attempt to Mediate
It's sad to see the sport of hockey devolve into something so feral, with some kids even continuously kicking their opponents while they're already down. The refs tried their best to mediate through the carnage but it was to no avail, a few refs can't temper a storm of angry children pummelling each other.
Calm Among the Chaos
There was a sort of «calm amidst the storm» in the form of the 2 goalies who could be seen simply fist bumping each other and watching the carnage unfold refusing to join the fight.

Desperate Need for Disciplinary Action
My biggest question is what was going through these kids heads? It seems that their parents did not raise them properly, because behaviour like this is beyond unacceptable, it's dangerous and clearly the majority of the kids on the ice felt confident enough to do something so terrible. One could only hope this is an eye opener for those parents and that they can teach their kids that behaviour like this is never acceptable.
