was visibly annoyed in a post-game interview in response to Saturday night's loss to the U.S. and declared Monday night's game to be game 7.

Connor McDavid craves yet another fight with Team USA after Saturday night's game against the Americans ended in defeat for Canada by a score of 3-1.

"It was fast, tight-checking, competitive, emotional. It had everything you would want in a hockey game," McDavid said, according to The Athletic's Arpon Basu. "It sucks it didn't go our way, but this thing's far from over."

McDavid believes Monday's game will be like a game 7

To reach that final alongside them, Canada must win the next game on Monday in regulation or if their victory is in overtime, they must see Sweden winning in overtime as well or see Sweden getting defeated in regulation play.

Team captain Sam Bennett agreed with Connor McDavid and craved that rematch while stating that all that concentration must now go to Monday night's next game.

"It's the greatest rivalry in hockey, and they got us tonight," Bennett said, according to NHL.com's Mike Zeisberger. "I mean, we're not going to look ahead to a (rematch), but obviously, we want them again."

American Dylan Larkin wants to play that game all over again, which likely means he is hoping Canada will advance to the finals.

"This was a special one," Larkin said, according to Sportsnet. "It would be great to see those guys again."

It was Matthew Tkachuk who set that game to that kind of tone by dropping the gloves in that fight at nearly the start of play that spoke of how much that victory would have meant to him.

Going into Saturday night's defeat at the United States' disposal, Canada was on a record-breaking 17-game winning streak in best-on-best play in that tournament.

Their only other defeat at their arch-rivals' disposal had been in preliminary play in their 2010 Olympic preliminary game.

Canada famously evened that score by going on to take that year's gold medal game in a thrilling manner capped by Sidney Crosby's iconic game-winner in overtime play.

Now Jon Cooper wants to refocus for Monday night, pleased with how hard-fought their play was but aware that more work has to go in.
