Last night New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe was once again ejected for a dirty hit and now fans are calling for him to be banned from the NHL.

Against the Dallas Stars, Matt Rempe once again found himself in trouble after being ejected for boarding Miro Heiskanen.

The hit led Rempe to be ejected once again adding to his lengthy record of being a dirty and dangerous player on the ice.

So far in his NHL career Rempe has played just 22 total games and been ejected in a staggeringly high 4 of those games.

With the ejection in the rearview mirror, Rempe will now face further punishment from the NHL as he has an in-person hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

An in-person hearing for Rempe likely means that a lengthy suspension will be coming to him but many fans don't feel a suspension is enough of a punishment.

Fans call for New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe to be banned from the NHL

Throughout the day fans from all around the hockey world have been reacting to the Rempe hit on Heiskanen and Rempe's place in the NHL.

Of course, Rempe is a polarizing player with many defending him and many others who do not feel he belongs in the NHL.

Many of the fans who do not think he belongs in the league have now begun discussing whether Rempe deserves to be banned to protect other players in the league.

While it is essentially impossible that the NHL will ban Rempe outright some fans are calling on the Rangers to take matters into their own hands and send him down to the AHL for good.

Regardless of what the Rangers plan to do Rempe himself needs to find a way to play with more discipline and composure if he wants to stick in the NHL.

Eventually, the Rangers and other teams are going to get sick of Rempe's constant antics and suspensions and he will cost himself his shot in the NHL.

As more information is provided on the official punishment and suspension for Rempe we will pass along the latest news.
