Former NHL defenseman Mike Commodore slams Patrik Laine in recent social media post

Fans of the NHL love to follow Mike Commodore because of his social media presence and banter but this time he may have taken it too far for some.

Commodore's entertainment value on social media has many NHL fans following him. He definitely is not going to hold back. This past Monday morning he made some comments about when the new Montreal Canadien Patrik Laine showed up in the locker room to put on his new NHL team sweater.

NHL fans will know Commodore as a journeyman defenseman, playing a career 484 games over the course of his NHL career with 7 different teams. He played 11 seasons and totaled 106 points (23G, 83A) and 683 PIM.

What seems to have gotten under Commodore's skin was the choice of clothing that Patrik Laine decided to wear.

Commodore cites that he grew up in a different time, with a banter back to a fan on his post about how he understands it is not a suit and tie type of thing these days with players.

From what we can tell about Commodore on social media, he will make his opinion known. But did he go too far? I guess it comes down to everyone's own opinion but as open as he is to give his thoughts, he has been taking it from some fans as well.

As we know the NHL is a young man's game, and the generation of players express themselves in all types of ways off the ice. It may be surprising to some, given Commodore's hair styles that he would be conservative about anything fashion wise.
