Johnny Gaudreau's widow Meredith shares touching response to tributes from across the NHL for her husband

This week has been an emotional rollercoaster for the hockey community as NHL teams come together to tribute to the Gaudreau family and today the family responded.

Johnny Gaudreau was one of the most beloved and well-respected players in the NHL. His ability to be a high-scoring and exciting player despite being undersized was something that endeared him to fans. Unfortunately this summer Johnny and his brother Matthew passed away in a tragic accident.

Since their passing the entire hockey community has shared emotional and heartwarming tributes to the Gaudreau brothers. This has now continued into the NHL season as both teams and individual players have found ways to support the Gaudreau family and keep Johnny's memory alive.

Meredith Gaudreau responds to tributes to Johnny Gaudreau on Instagram

Through her Instagram story, Meredith Gaudreau took the time out of her day to respond to several organizations and players who chose to honor Johnny Gaudreau in some way. First up was the Gubranson family the children of Erik Gudbranson who played with Johnny could be seen sporting number 13 custom jackets.

Next was Calgary Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf who shared a photo of his mask featuring a portrait of Johnny Gaudreau on the back. Meredith Gaudreau reposted the picture on her own story.

Last and certainly not least was Meredith Gaudreau's response to the several tributes by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Players like Elvis Merzlikins and Sean Monahan are pictured in the posts that Meredith Gaudreau responded to.

Not pictured are several other tributes done throughout the NHL. Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield changed his number to 13 in honor of Gaudreau. All of these tributes and moments show just how profound of an impact Johnny Gaudreau had on the hockey community. As the season continues there will likely be plenty more moments where the Gaudreau family will be on the minds of hockey fans and honored by the community.
