Matt Rempe Reveals His Mindset Following a Major Suspension

Matt Rempe came into the NHL full of fire and momentum, but after a recent suspension, he reveals how his mindset is changing.

After just 10 games in the NHL, Matt Rempe remains the talk of the town given how much he impacted the game so early, but after a hit to Jonas Siegenthaler took him out for four games with a suspension, that may be changing.

Following the suspension, Rempe has remained a healthy scratch for the Rangers, with the 21-year old now addressing the hit that led to his suspension, as well as his mindset moving forward.




Despite his hot start, Rempe was encouraged by many analysts, fans and former players to take care of his body more, and in doing so, taking more care of his opponents. He made it clear in recent comments that while he wants to continue fighting and making a physical impact, he knows that he needs to keep it clean and avoid those unnecessary plays that can cause more consequences.

With the star studded Rangers looking to chase their first Stanley Cup win since 1994, the team need that type of an impact in the playoffs, but we've seen the type of negative impact a major suspension in the playoffs has had on teams in the past. So now, the 6-foot-7 monster needs to work his way back into the Rangers lineup, and when he gets there, he needs to battle hard but not cross a line, a change that won't be easy to make, but something that needs to be done to preserve his body going forward.
