Noah Hanifin has been a fantastic player for the Calgary Flames over the past six years, but now like Elias Lindholm and others, his time in Calgary is quickly coming to an end.

Noah Hanifin to hit the trade market

Over the weekend, it was reported that Hanifin revealed to Calgary that he wants out, and with the trade deadline looming, he'll likely fetch them plenty of assets in return.

On top of that, the 27-year old has also now told the team of his future plans, and that could certainly effect the return they get for him ahead of the March 8 trade deadline.

Noah Hanifin heading to the Tampa Bay Lightning?

According to Insider Frank Seravalli, Hanifin has told Calgary he wants to end up with the Tampa Bay Lightning, whether that's at the trade deadline or part of a long-term contract in his upcoming free agency.

Seravalli: I think the Hanifin camp has expressed to the Flames that he has interest in signing in Tampa eventually.

It's unlikely that the Lightning have the assets to land him in the coming weeks, but with their Stanley Cup window likely still open for another year or two, adding a player that can impact them now and into the future would be a great move, so keep an eye on Hanifin and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
