Rick Tocchet clearly enjoys coaching Sidney Crosby once again like his days with the Penguins, and he had some bold statements to say regarding the superstar.

All eyes from Canada and the USA will be on Montreal tomorrow evening when Team Canada continues their 4 Nations Face-Off odyssey against the Americans.

Vancouver Canucks bench coach Rick Tocchet joins Jon Cooper behind the bench in an assistant coach's role.

Sidney Crosby is home again on the Canadian men's national team after nine years, sporting his trademarked 'C' again. Leadership and experience will be key on and off the ice, helping to guide younger players around the tourney, thanks to his presence.

He clearly showed his skill and leadership last game, where he was able to notch three assists en route to Canada's thrilling overtime win against Team Sweden.

Crosby's old coach in Pittsburgh, Rick Tocchet, was a huge admirer of Crosby in a recent interview for Postmedia.

He raved about his incredible hockey IQ, his work ethic in playing a full 200-foot game, and his capacity to compete at a high level even at his age.

Rick Tocchet believes Crosby could play well into his 40s

Tocchet even went so far as to say that Crosby would be playing in the NHL in his 40s if he continued on that path.

"How many more years is he going to play? He could play into his 40s," Tocchet said. "He takes care of himself, and his hockey I.Q. is outstanding. The one thing people don't understand is that Sid doesn't cheat."

He added, "He plays a 200-foot game. If he really wanted to - and I keep telling people this - Sid could play another five years."

Crosby is set on winning for Canada in this tourney, of course, but also on winning in Italy at the 2026 Winter Olympics, possibly his final time wearing the red maple leaf in a tournament.

Tomorrow, Team Canada plays a tough one against the Tkachuk brothers, Auston Matthews, and JT Miller, when they face Team USA. It's more crucial than ever to get a win against their most fierce rivals. The puck drops at 8 PM ET.
