Today TNT analyst Liam McHugh has called out Buffalo Sabres GM Kevyn Adams over comments he made about free agents not wanting to sign in Buffalo. The Buffalo Sabres are on the verge of once again missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs for a 14th season in a row and GM Kevyn Adams has made things even worse for himself. Earlier this week after a loss to the Utah Hockey Club Buffalo Sabres GM Kevyn Adams held a press conference with the media to discuss the team's struggles. During the press conference, Adams referenced the fact that Buffalo does not have palm trees and that taxes are a reason why NHL free agents and players with no trade clauses want to sign in Buffalo. We don't have palm trees in Buffalo we have taxes in New York those are real and they are things you deal with. These comments were loathed by fans of the Buffalo Sabres and seen as excuses and a copout by Adams who has not made the moves necessary for the team to be a contender the way many thought they would be. Since these comments were made the Buffalo Sabres fans have come out in bunches in protest of Adams and the Sabres organization as a whole in recent days. During the team's most recent loss to the Detroit Red Wings, fans were seen holding inflatable palm trees in the crowd and one was even thrown on the ice after the OT collapse by the Sabres.

If it wasn't already bad enough that Sabres fans themselves were calling out Adams for his comments now the host of NHL on TNT Liam McHugh has also taken to social media to troll the Sabres GM.
NHL on TNT host Liam McHugh trolls Sabres GM Kevyn Adams
This afternoon in a post on X NHL on TNT host Liam McHugh took a picture of the snow-covered streets of Winnipeg and captioned the post they have the most points in the league. Where are the palm trees?.

This is a clear shot at the Buffalo Sabres calling out Kevyn Adams' ridiculous claims that the Buffalo weather was the problem. Clearly, that cannot be the case as the Winnipeg Jets have not only been the best team in the NHL this season but have been a contender in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for much of the last decade. Regardless of Adams' comments it is clear that time is running out for him and head coach Lindy Ruff to turn things around before a new regime begins yet another rebuild in Buffalo. If this current group wants to stick around expect the Sabres to be aggressive in making moves to compete this season and break the record Stanley Cup Playoff drought
