The veteran Blake Wheeler was linked to the Boston Bruins in a new report online. It seems the Boston Bruins could be interested in bringing back Wheeler, who played three years in Boston at the start of his NHL career. The Bruins' general manager Don Sweeney made interesting acquisitions this summer, including Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov. However, getting Wheeler would be great for the bottom-six.

In 2023-24, Wheeler struggled with a major injury that limited him to 54 games with the New York Rangers. While he's no longer the impactful player he was earlier in his career, he still tallied 21 points, including nine goals. Wheeler will be 38 years old when the next season starts. Considering his most recent deal with the Rangers (one-year, $800,000), Wheeler clearly won't ask for a lot of money, especially if he gets the opportunity to join a team like the Bruins. The Bruins fell short in the recent playoffs against the Florida Panthers. With more offensive depth going into the 2024-25 season, they could be able to push through and reach deeper rounds.
