Nazem Kadri may not be interested in sticking out a rebuild with the Calgary Flames, and now it's been revealed he would welcome a reunion with a former team. Nazem Kadri inked a seven-year deal in Calgary in the summer of 2022, and while he's been brilliant individually, the team is pushing for a much needed rebuild after moving Jacob Markstrom, Andrew Mangiapane and several top stars at the deadline a year ago. Now, it has been reported that he may be open to waiving his no-trade clause to go to a contender, with David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reporting that Kadri would welcome a return to either of his former teams. My understanding with respect to (Kadri) is that he's willing to waive (the no-move clause) for the right situation. I think he would welcome a return to Colorado or farther East, somewhere closer to home. https://www.youtube.com/live/LOOMf5rbaJA Unfortunately for the Avalanche, who would love a second-line centre like Kadri, the salary cap is working against them, but if the right move comes along for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Kadri would work as a fantastic long-term replacement for John Tavares. The 33-year old had the second best statistical season of his career in 2023/24 tallying an impressive 29 goals and 75 points, and with plenty of gas left in the tank, he may be worth giving up some valuable assets. This may be a deal that happens during the season, as Flames GM Craig Conroy is seemingly all in on a rebuild, and if Kadri is open to a move, we could see a blockbuster reunion.
