Patrick Kane has made his future beyond this season unclear making fans wonder if a return to Chicago is likely. Beyond the 2023-2024 season, Patrick Kane has no contractual obligation and will be a free agent this off-season. He has made it clear that he is interested in playing until the age of 40 which opens him up to a potential longer term deal. The Chicago Blackhawks seem to be an ideal suitor for the 35 year old forward. They have the cap space and they have the youth and veteran talents within their lineup to sustain a winning culture. These talents being lead by 2023 1st overall pick, Connor Bedard, and 2022 7th overall pick, Kevin Korchinski. Both players still have yet to hit the 20 year old mark but have earned full time spots and have logged heavy minutes. Not only is the team situation perfect for Patrick Kane, the fans still seem to have the same love for him. Check out this video from last season of Patrick Kane receiving a standing ovation from Blackhawks' fans after Kane scored an overtime winner against them:

Although the rebuild does not fit the mold of a veteran forward who wants to win, it is possible that fans will see Patrick Kane back in a Blackhawks jersey soon.
