The Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins are all set for game two tonight. Ahead of the matchup, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe defended Max Domi while making a plea to the referees to keep a careful eye on Brad Marchand. The leaf head coach obviously was not happy with the way game one ended with the final score. Max Domi taking a slashing penalty with the team down 3-0 did not help the team, especially considering the Bruins would score on the ensuing powerplay. However, Keefe was complimentary of Domi ahead of game two, saying he wants him to continue to play his game. I don't need Max to change anything about who he is and how he plays. He's an important guy for us, and I love the intensity he brought the other night. He got caught on the penalty. I know their guy's probably going to get the same slash probably ten times in the rest of this series, and we'll see if he gets called on it. But I love Max's intensity.

The Leafs have a significant challenge ahead of themselves tonight as they take on the Bruins in game two on the road. Another loss would put the team in a big hole as they go back to Toronto. While Domi was a big part of the story in game one, the dominant headline was William Nylander's absence from the team. Keefe confirmed today that the superstar remains a question mark heading into tonight's contest. Keefe re: Nylander status: «We'll see how he feels the rest of the day here and then make a decision.»

Keefe and the Leafs organization as a whole have been very secretive about the health status of their players since the playoffs began. As such, we will likely have to wait until warmups before we know for sure whether or not Nylander will play tonight. That being said, it is hard to imagine him not getting into the lineup again, especially now that the team is behind in the series. That being said, he was not a regular participant at morning skate today either. Be sure to stay tuned to see what happens.

Source: HockeyPatrol Sheldon Keefe calls out Brad Marchand and the NHL officials
