A very worrisome moment occurred during the Stars and Wild game when Dallas' Mason Marchment took a slapshot straight to the face and was rushed to hospital.

In the first period of the game, Dallas Stars' Mason Marchment went down with an injury when a shot by teammate Evgeny Dadonov came up high and seemed to catch him in the area of his nose.

The puck first appeared to take a deflection off Logan Stankoven before catching Mason Marchment. Marchment did not return to the game, with the Stars listing it as an upper-body injury.

After the game, head coach Peter DeBoer said Marchment was taken to a local hospital for evaluation but offered no details on the extent of the injury, except to say it "wasn't pretty." He wouldn't speculate on if Marchment will miss any more time.

It is the second time this season Marchment has taken a puck to the face, as he bled badly on the ice back in November against the Winnipeg Jets.

The absence of Marchment will more than likely be a huge blow for Dallas as the team was already without top-line forward Tyler Seguin, who underwent hip surgery on Monday.

He'll miss 4-6 months. This season, Marchment, who turned 29 in May, is second among team leaders with 12 goals and 27 points in 33 games.

In his third season with Dallas, Marchment has recorded 46 goals and added 65 assists in 181 games for 111 points. He had played three seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers before joining the Stars.
