This could have been just a regular day off for Patrick Kane or could indicate an injury. With Patrick Kane out the new combination of J.T. Compher, Jonathan Berggren, and Vladimir Tarasenko could be gearing up to play together. <h3>Could Patrick Kane miss the beginning of the season?</h3> With no update from the Detroit Red Wings or reporters to this point it leaves Patrick Kane's status a mystery. If he is indeed injured then there is a big possibility he could miss the opening night of the NHL season. If Patrick Kane is forced to come back in the middle of the season then putting him on a new line could be better than with his previous combo. His former teammate with the Chicago Blackhawks Alex DeBrincat is heading into his second season with the Detroit Red Wings.
