The Edmonton Oilers' captain Connor McDavid received a brutal crosscheck to the face from Vancouver Canucks defenseman Carson Soucy in game three. For the first time of the playoffs, last night, McDavid failed to score a point. With 17 points in eight games since the start of the playoffs, he's averaging over two points per game, despite failing to write his name on the scoresheet in game three. It truly looked like the Canucks players had him exactly where they wanted him to be. Even if there's a lot of talent in the Oilers' roster, keeping McDavid of the scoreboard was enough for Arturs Silovs and the rest of the Canucks to get away with the win; taking the series lead 2-1. At the end of the game, shortly after Connor McDavid was desperately trying to tie the game to force overtime, the Canucks were all over him. After the final whistle blew, he landed a slash on Soucy, forcing both Nikita Zadorov and Carson Soucy to attack him. Zadorov hit him from behind while Soucy crosschecked him. However, Zadorov's hit made McDavid lean forward, and Soucy ended up hitting him right in the face. Do you think Soucy will face consequences from the NHL for his crosscheck on Connor McDavid's face?
