The Edmonton Oilers look poised to win their first-round matchup against the LA Kings this year as they are currently up 2-1 heading into tonight's game. Ahead of the game though, the team made a shocking move by calling up goalie Jack Campbell. The team announced the move this morning, ahead of game four against the Kings in LA tonight. They also announced that they have called up defenseman Phillip Broberg. 🔁 #Oilers roster moves 🔁 🔹 Defenceman Philip Broberg has been recalled from the @Condors . 🔸 Goaltender Jack Campbell has also been recalled from Bakersfield. #LetsGoOilers This move is especially notable given how Jack Campbell's season went this year. He played just five games in the regular season for the Oilers before being sent down to the American Hockey League. He put up an .873 save percentage and gave up 20 goals in those five contests, earning just a single win. His struggles continued for much of the season in the AHL, but he did play well down the stretch. That being said, Oilers reporter Brenden Escott reported today that Campbell is expected to remain in his role as the number three netminder. Calvin Pickard will be serving as the backup tonight, and for the rest of the playoff run assuming both netminders remain healthy. With the @Condors season ending Saturday night, the @EdmontonOilers have recalled G Jack Campbell and D Philip Broberg from Bakersfield. Broberg may play over Stetcher if an #Oilers defenceman suffers an injury. Campbell will not be leapfrogging Calvin Pickard. #LetsGoOilers

Be sure to tune in tonight to see if the Oilers are able to get the commanding three games to one lead or of the Kings tie things up.
