The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Calgary Flames 4-2, sealing their dominance in the Battle of Alberta this season. However, Evander Kane found himself in hot water again as he argued with Cory Perry.

Connor McDavid led the charge, racking up two apples, and has 99 assists this season. He's one away. It's the most assists in an NHL season since Wayne Gretzky had 122 in 1990-91. McDavid is an apple away from becoming the fourth player to have 100 assists in a season. He'd join the great one (11 times), Mario Lemieux (one), and Bobby Orr (one).

Yet it's not all sunshine and rainbows for the Oilers, who also blasted the Colorado Avalanche 6-2 on Friday night and are three points back of the Vancouver Canucks for the Pacific Division lead with six games left. Evander Kane found himself in hot water again as he argued with Cory Perry.

The Sportsnet crew dissected the drama during the intermission, which all boils down to one play. Kane made a questionable move in the offensive zone, tossing the puck at the net instead of keeping the cycle going. Corey Perry, his linemate, was there, ready for a pass to maintain possession.
Unfortunately, Perry wasn't pleased. He let Kane hear it loud and clear, even giving the bench door a few angry slams.

As if that wasn't enough, Kane was skating with the fourth line in the third period alongside Derek Ryan and Warren Foegele. Tensions are running high in Oil Country, not just on the ice. Yet it's incredible to see these players demand the most out of each other at the best time of the year. Edmonton found a way to win the final meeting of the season and Perry made sure their most bitter rivals heard it.
