A few days after their 2-1 Game 7 Stanley Cup Final loss to the Florida Panthers, Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers began their end of season assessments.

Edmonton's head coach, Kris Knoblauch confirmed Conn Smythe winner Connor McDavid and fellow superstar Leon Draisaitl played through serious injuries during their playoff run.

Kris Knoblauch says there were playoff games where the team wasn't sure if Leon Draisaitl would play.

Another testimony proving how much number 29 is the real deal.

He mentioned injuries to his ribs and hands.

Knoblauch said Draisaitl had rib and hand injuries.
«There were games we weren't sure he could play. But he always did.

McDavid had 42 points in the playoffs, five shy of Wayne Gretzky's all-time record, including 11 points in the seven-game Stanley Cup Final series, and eight in a two game span.

Aleksander Barkov on Connor McDavid:

"He's probably the most talented hockey player I've ever seen in my life.

Obviously, I never played against Gretzky, but I can imagine he's something similar.

Kris Knoblauch provides an update on the injuries the Oilers were dealing with throughout the playoffs.

Draisaitl, notched 30 points in 23 playoff games, but only managed 3 points in the finals, and it was clear he was hurt.
