The New Jersey Devils are in some serious need of grit and toughness up front, and it appears they may have found an intriguing target. After a season in which they severely underperformed, big changes are coming in New Jersey, and perhaps a few surprises. Lindy Ruff and Travis Green led the team in 2023-24, but following the year, Green moved to the Ottawa Senators on a four-year deal, and it's his new team that New Jersey may be targeting. On the latest episode of the Spittin Chiclets podcast, a surprising new rumour emerged linking Senators captain Brady Tkachuk to the New Jersey Devils in what would be a blockbuster move.

On paper, it would be a huge addition for New Jersey, but for the Senators, it just quite doesn't make sense, as the team are looking to build around the core they've got, armed with a top pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. Unsurprisingly, Senators fans immediately found the post on social media and voiced their displeasure, rightfully claiming that this will never happen.

Sure, the two sides could make it work with money, draft picks and players, but it doesn't make sense for the Senators, who believe they can take a step towards contention in 2024-25, but if the rumblings are out there, keep a close eye on this one as the summer unfolds.
