Ryan Johansen's injury has prevented him from playing hockey after the deadline this year, and now Flyers' General Manager Danny Briere has commented on his future. Ryan Johansen was acquired by the Philadelphia Flyers at this year's trade deadline, however, did not play in a game with the club after reporting an injury. This prevented him from being sent down to the minors, even though that was his fate prior to his injury being disclosed. Now, Danny Briere has commented on Johansen's future with the team, stating that he doesn't think he will be able to play hockey again. Briere says he doesn't expect Ryan Johansen back and that «He doesn't think he can play hockey.» Johansen claimed to be injured after arriving via trade in March

This is a massive comment to be coming from Briere, as he is essentially saying that he thinks Johansen is done in the NHL. Despite his injury after the deadline, Johansen played in 63 games for the Avalanche prior to being traded, recording 13 goals and 10 assists.

Ultimately, it will come down to what Johansen decides to do. Obviously, it is hard to know the extent of his injury without the details, however, this comment should be a massive chip on his shoulder if he wants to view it that way.
