The Celebrini family hopes that the San Jose Sharks win the NHL draft lottery and will choose Macklin Celebrini with the first overall pick in the 2024 Draft. Here is what the family had to say about it It would be amazing. We talk about it all the time. But we try not to get too ahead of ourselves because it's out of our hands, and we don't want to set ourselves up for disappointment. Still, as a family, having him here in the Bay where we can support and help him would be unbelievable.

Their journey to the Bay Area began when the Golden State Warriors hired Rick, a Vancouver native, as their director of sports medicine and performance in August 2018. The following year, the rest of the Celebrini crewwife Robyn, eldest son Aiden, Macklin, both Boston University players, daughter Charlie, and youngest son RJpacked up and moved to Willow Glen. Aiden, then 15, and Macklin, 13, both hit the ice for the Jr. Sharks during the 2019-20 season. Macklin had a standout year, posted 49 goals and 94 points in just 54 games with the 14-and-under squad. Macklin as a 17 year-old led college hockey with 32 goals and 64 points in 38 games this season. Aiden was a 2023 6th round pick by the Vancouver Canucks. Rick Celebrini credits Robert Savoie, Macklin's former Jr. Sharks head coach and now Senior Hockey Director at Sharks Ice, for being a positive influence on his son's development. It's clear that the Celebrini family has found a supportive hockey community in the Bay Area as they eagerly await what the future holds for Macklin.
