The Toronto Maple Leafs are banking on Ben Danford being a huge part of their future, but his time with the team is unfortunately off to a bad start. Ben Danford may not have got the biggest reception when he was drafted No. 31 overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, but it appears the Maple Leafs made the right pick, as they are quite confident that the Oshawa Generals blue liner can make a major difference to their future. Now, his time with the team hasn't started in the best way possible, as the 18-year old was reportedly helped off the ice at camp as he suffered a massive hit, with medical staff assessing him for a head injury.

Given what a massive issue head injuries have become in the NHL, there's no doubting that they will take extra precautions to make sure he can return to the ice, with the one positive being that he was able to leave the ice and head to the locker room under his own power.

At 18-years of age, Danford's future with the Maple Leafs comes full of excitement and optimism, so the hope is that this one won't effect his immediate future, but for now, both the team and Danford will be intentional in his recovery with the hope that he can make an immediate impact when given the opportunity.
