The Toronto Maple Leafs seem intent on moving Nick Robertson this off-season, and now one massive proposal sees them land a former Champion. Despite having a career year with the Maple Leafs in 2023/24, Nick Robertson wants out of Toronto, and given their depth of forwards, there's just seemingly no room for him moving forward. Over the past few weeks, we've seen plenty of move trades for the 22-year old, but this last one may be the most intriguing of all thus far.

Maple Leafs get: Lars Eller, Matt Nieto, 2027 third-round pick Pittsburgh get: Nick Robertson, Pontus Holmberg. In the deal, the Maple Leafs would send Robertson, along with the emerging Pontus Holmberg to fill their 3C role with former Stanley Cup Champion Lars Eller, who won the title with Washington all the way back in 2018.

That run came with plenty of clutch moments for Eller, including the eventual game winning goal that would clinch the Capitals their first Stanley Cup in franchise history. However, he's a few years older now, and with the Maple Leafs giving up two talented young forwards, they may look to get a little more value out of this deal. They do need to fill their 3C role however, so the addition of Eller along with depth forward Matt Nieto and a third-round pick, there's certainly been worse proposals out there, and if this one went through, it would be a solid deal for Brad Treliving and the Maple Leafs.
