The Toronto Maple Leafs might have one more move up their sleeve before the new season kicks off.

According to Sportsnet's Hockey Insider, Elliotte Friedman, the Leafs are still looking to add a left winger, before the season starts.

With Nick Robertson having one skate out the door after his trade request, Max Domi and Pontus Holmberg are back and can fill those holes, but that may leave Toronto with little confidence in their bottom six middle men. Meanwhile, rookies Easton Cowan and Fraser Minten are in the mix but aren't guaranteed spots on opening night.

Max Pacioretty could be a solid choice-he's 35, has loads of experience, and is familiar with Toronto, having played ten seasons with the rival Montreal Canadiens.

Other possible options include former Leaf James van Riemsdyk, who had a decent season with 38 points in 71 games for the Boston Bruins last year, or even longtime New York Islanders veteran Matt Martin, who could make a comeback on a tryout deal after playing two seasons in blue and white.

While a trade is always a possibility, the Leafs are only have $1.275 million in space, so it's unlikely a deal is struck with another party.

It appears GM Brad Treliving will be hunting for a reliable veteran who can come in at a reasonable price, adding some depth without breaking the bank and losing draft assets or prospects.
