Nazem Kadri of the Calgary Flames has a no-trade clause and up until recently did not want to waive it, however that's now changed, and he's ready to go.

Kadri has been with the Flames for the past two seasons, and now appears that under the right conditions that he's satisfied with, he'd be willing to waive his no-trade clause. Kadri appears to want to move to a team closer to home, as reported by The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta. He would also be okay with returning to a former team. That leaves two options: Colorado and Toronto.

"My understanding with respect to (Kadri) is that he's willing to waive (the no-move clause) for the right situation. I think he would welcome a return to Colorado or farther East, somewhere closer to home."

One major reason why a reunion between Toronto and Kadri seems the most likely is because when Kadri joined the Flames, current GM of the Leafs Brad Treliving was the GM of the Flames, so they both have strong ties to one another.

John Tavares is entering the final year of his contract, so Kadri would be a great replacement for him as the #2 center should the Leafs choose not to re-sign Tavares. It will be interesting to see if Treliving attempts to be re-united with Kadri now that he knows Nazem is finally open to it.
