The scene that went down during Game 5 between the Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Arena was wild. Trash flew onto the ice, all because of one questionable penalty call.

Elias Pettersson, found himself on the receiving end of a charging penalty. He was practically rooted to the spot when it transpired. According to the rulebook, charging happens on a hit with excessive force, taking more than a couple of strides to make sure your opponent feels it. Yet Pettersson wasn't even moving.

Now, according to Rule 607, it's up to the player delivering the check to avoid causing any harm, so who truly knows what the refs saw on that play. Fans and analysts both inside and outside of the arena let them have it.

That penalty call left everyone baffled. Yet despite all the chaos, the ending to that game was pure gold. JT Miller slotted the winner in the last minute, sending Vancouver into a frenzy. The crowd went from fuming to cheering their hearts out, chanting for their hero.
