This evening Canucks GM Jim Rutherford clarified a few major points about J.T. Miller's absence while calling out the media for causing major speculation.

During a press conference, Vancouver Canucks GM Jim Rutherford finally was able to open up a little bit about J.T. Miller's absence from the Canucks and their plans for his future.

According to Rutherford, the Canucks have no plans to trade Miller and continue to support him while he continues to be away from the team.

No, we are not (trading him), Rutherford said, leaving no room for doubt. We stand by him.

While this does not confirm why Miller is out or when he will be back it does clear up a ton of trade speculation that had been building over the last 24 hours.

Several sources including the Spittin Chiclets Podcast had put out reports of a potential trade involving Miller in the near future.

With these reports out there the Canucks felt the need to make a statement shutting down all rumors and the Canucks GM even went as far as to call out the media.

As his remarks continued Rutherford moved from Miller's current situation to the coverage of the story by the media.

In a frustrated rant, Rutherford called out several media outlets for building speculation around Miller referring to those outlets as disrespectful.

Don't start making stuff up on someone in his situation. That's disrespectful, he said. People that do this for fun, for a living, just go back to making up trade rumors.

On the same day that Rutherford makes these remarks, NHL insider Darren Dreger spoke about the situation and confirmed that the plan is still for Miller to return to the Canucks at some point.

With all of this information now out there it seems as though Miller will remain a Vancouver Canuck going forward and there are no plans for him to be traded to a new team.

Hopefully with all of this cleared up we will see J.T. Miller return to the Canucks soon and continue dazzling us all on the ice with his incredible skill.
