This evening a new quote from Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet is circulating where he has called out J.T. Miller for his recent lack of success.

Over the last couple of months, there has been a lot of tension building between J.T. Miller, Elias Pettersson, and the Vancouver Canucks organization.

With things still not getting better for the Canucks there have been continued trade talks around both Miller and Pettersson with both players being linked to various organizations in a potential trade deadline move.

Now a new comment from Rick Tocchet on Miller's frustrating stretch of play over the last few games and lack of effort has once again sparked conversation around the Canucks trading him away.

New comments from Rick Tocchet spark J.T. Miller trade reports

During a recent press conference, Tocchet was asked why Miller's playing time has decreased in the last few games and whether or not it was injury-related.

Tocchet confirmed that Miller is healthy and that the lack of playing time is related to Miller's lack of discipline and ability to drive play throughout the recent games for the Canucks.

He's not hurt. He needs to be better, he knows it. It's tough. Guys like that want to play on the edge, so he's trying to temper it; he doesn't want to take dumb penalties, things like that. He's at his best when he's driving play.

Miller was also asked about the lack of playing time and why he feels Tocchet has put him out there less over the last few games.

In his answer, Miller seemed a bit lost for a specific answer of what has gone wrong for him but admitted his level of play needs to take a step up.

I don't know, he said. Probably could play a little better, I don't know.

It seems like this season has taken a toll on Miller, Tocchet, Pettersson, and the Canucks as a whole already at just essentially the halfway point.

If they cannot find their way out of this frustrating hole they have dug for themselves filled with drama we could see the Canucks make some major moves at the trade deadline.

If the Canucks are going to make a move at the deadline reports now suggest that it will be Miller who is traded.

There's a sense league-wide that J.T. Miller is the more likely to be moved, - Chris Johnston on TSN's Insider Trading.

Over the next few weeks, the pressure will now be on Miller to turn his play around and make things work with the Canucks organization or risk being sent to a new city to start over again.
