A big trade proposal between the CH and the Coyotes involving Arber Xhekaj has been raised

Recently, the excellent Pascal Lapointe brought up an interesting trade proposal involving the Montreal Canadiens and the Arizona Coyotes.

Remember that this is not a trade rumor based on concrete elements, it is simply a proposal for entertainment purposes.

So, why raise such a proposal?

Well, like Lapointe, we were curious to hear your opinion on this specific trade suggestion.

As of this writing, over 2100 people have voted, and 65.3% of respondents would decline to make this trade.

Do you feel the same way? Would you turn down this trade?

Putting the facts into perspective, Chychrun is a 24 year old versatile defenseman who can provide some interesting offense. He has a solid 28 points (7 goals) in 36 games this season. He also has 18 goals in 56 games in 2021.

To me, the only problem with Chychrun is that he is not a right-handed defenseman. He could have been a perfect partner for Kaiden Guhle.

Xhekaj, on the other hand, just turned 22 and is playing his first professional season. He has 13 points (5 goals) in 51 games this season. Beyond his offensive production, the number 72 brings a much more physical presence than Chychrun, in addition to playing his role as a protector.

The Panthers first round pick should technically be a top-16 pick in the upcoming draft, and may even be a lottery pick depending on how the team finishes the season.
