Since the deal that sent Alex Galchenyuk from the Tricolore to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Max Domi, the American forward is no longer a shadow of his former self. It's hard to know if Marc Bergevin was right in his case and that he predicted that Galchenyuk was on the decline, but one thing is certain, it was a very good move by the former Tricolore GM. Galchenyuk has played for five Bettman teams in the last four years, including two stints in Arizona and one in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies. That's pretty indicative of what teams think of the forward. It looks like the former number 27 of the Habs will get one more chance to make his mark, as the Colorado Avalanche have signed Galchenyuk to a professional tryout contract.

Galchenyuk will have to prove to the Avalanche staff that he deserves his spot on the team before he can claim victory for the upcoming season.
