Canadiens' prospects have an incredible playoff run

However, the performances of two young players in the organization are certainly worth keeping a close eye on their development. Forwards Joshua Roy and Riley Kidney are on fire right now, with 10 points each in just four playoff games, tied for second in the QMJHL.

The Saint-Georges-de-Beauce native was a key part of the Canadian team that won the gold medal at the World Junior Championship, scoring five goals and six assists in seven games. Joshua Roy set up Dylan Guenther's game-winning goal in overtime against the Czech Republic in the final.

The Quebecer also had a great regular season with an impressive 46 goals and 53 assists in 55 games. Well, the right winger picked up where he left off by recording five goals and five assists to help the Sherbrooke Phoenix sweep the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in the first round of the playoffs.

The 2021 second round pick has been on a meteoric rise with 110 points in 60 games this year. In fact, since joining the Gatineau Olympiques, Riley Kidney has taken his game to the next level. The 20-year-old forward is currently on a 32-game point streak with 16 goals and 59 assists in that span.

The Canadiens' prospect has continued his hot streak by adding two goals and eight assists since the start of the playoffs. His strong performance helped the Olympiques take a 3-1 lead in their series against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.

With such impressive statistics in the QMJHL, it would not be surprising if both forwards make the jump to the Laval Rocket next year!
