In the last few seconds, we have just learned that the Montreal Canadiens organization has made a major and catastrophic announcement, placing three players on the injured list and one player on the long-term injured list.

"The Canadiens placed forwards Joel Armia (upper body), Jake Evans (lower body) and Juraj Slafkovsky (lower body) on the injured list Tuesday.

All three will be out indefinitely and will undergo further evaluation in the coming days.

Sean Monahan, meanwhile, has been placed on the long-term injured list with a lower-body injury." - Montreal Canadiens

We have to say that in Monahan's case, it's certainly surprising, but we're told he's continuing his on-ice training on his own. Hopefully he can be fit for at least a few games before the trade deadline.

As for Slafkovsky, the news is certainly not reassuring, especially with what we heard this morning about a possible season ending situation, but we'll have to wait and see before we have a timeline on his injury.

By the way, the Habs have made emergency recalls of Rem Pitlick and Rafael Harvey-Pinard from Laval.
