Kent Hughes has a habit of being fairly transparent when answering journalists' questions. Aside from injuries and certain information he can't divulge, he's pretty clear about his intentions. At last week's Combine, the Canadiens' general manager answered a very pertinent question, namely whether it's a possibility to draft a goalie in the first two rounds this year. The answer was yes.

Kent Hughes was asked if he could see himself using a higher pick on a goalie, a top 2 round pick, on someone he could see in goal in 3-4 years for the Habs, obviously not the 5th overall pick. Hughes answered yes.- NHL Watcher (@NHL_Watcher) June 8, 2023
Available goalkeepers include Carson Bjarnason, Trey Augustine and Michael Hrabal, all three of whom are expected to go out in the first two rounds. The Habs haven't been very spoiled in recent years with their selections at the goaltender position. Let's hope Hughes and his team get lucky this time.
