Daniel Brière is not afraid to move to improve his Flyers in the long term, as they are in the midst of a rebuild. The GM wants to stock up on quality young prospects, much as the Habs have been doing for the past two years.

It would seem that his sights are set on Ottawa, as he has reportedly made an offer for young Shane Pinto and Mathieu Joseph.

"The Flyers have apparently made an offer to the Sens to acquire Shane Pinto (and Mathieu Joseph/his contract), without success.

Pinto still has no contract (RFA) and camp starts this week!"

- Marc-Olivier Beaudoin

Pinto is still without a contract, and according to CapFriendly, the Senators have just under $900,000 under the salary cap, which complicates matters. In particular, they had to give Jakov Novak to the Habs last week.

To be continued, but it would be quite an acquisition for Brière, given that Pinto scored 20 goals last year and is destined for a bright future, without being a superstar.
