The Canadiens' first-round draft pick, David Reinbacher, takes absolutely nothing for granted. The 18-year-old has a summer job that's a far cry from traditional employment.

While most of the top five overall picks have successful NHL careers and average $40 million, it's clear that Reinbacher isn't in it just for the money. He eats hockey for lunch, and here's the proof.

"I love the fact that David Reinbacher (drafted 5th overall by the Tricolore in 2023) has another job as a scout, a job to which he plans to return in the summer, shortly.

I don't know if he yet realizes that 95% of the first 5 picks overall play more than 200 games in the NHL.

Most of the top 5 picks have NHL careers lasting more than 10 years and career earnings in excess of $40 million.

But I still love it. It's nice to have options."

- Byron Bader

So, not only is the young defenseman dedicated to his sport, he's also got a whole hockey head. He's a leader in the making.

To be a scout at 18, you have to do it!
