Excellent news for David Reinbacher and the Canadiens

At first glance, the Canadiens' selection of David Reinbacher 5th overall came as a surprise, if not a disappointment, to many. However, now that we know more about the youngster and his skills, we understand why the Habs selected him.

What is being said about the Austrian is more and more remarkable, whether by other league leaders or top scouts.

Playing in the National A League in Switzerland last year, which is already impressive at 18, Reinbacher has done so well that he is one of three nominees for the league's best young player.

This is excellent news for him and for the Habs, who seem to have an impact defenseman on their roster.

Let's not forget that David quickly took on major responsibilities with Kloten and was used in all circumstances. Don't be surprised if he plays a few games in Montreal at the start of the season and officially arrives full-time in the NHL as early as the 2024-25 season.
