Today the NHL Department of Player Safety has officially handed down significant punishments to both Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers. Yesterday the NHL announced that both Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers would have supplemental hearings after being ejected in the heated game between the Oilers and Canucks. With the hearings for each player wrapping up earlier this afternoon, the Department of Player Safety took some time to deliberate and has now handed down its verdict. Regardless the NHL's Department of Player Safety did not agree and now both the Oilers and Canucks will be without key players going forward. Of course, the Oilers will likely feel a bigger impact losing out on McDavid who many consider to be the best player in the NHL. Now all eyes will be on both teams to see if either player ends up challenging their suspension to try and get it reduced.
