In the category of trade proposals that Kent Hughes absolutely should not make, there's this proposal from the <i>Montreal Gazette</i> that has people talking big. Indeed, the media outlet is proposing to trade the fifth overall pick to the Jets for Pierre-Luc Dubois. <blockquote class=twitter-tweet><p lang=en dir=ltr>What the Puck: Should the Canadiens trade 5th pick for Pierre-Luc Dubois? <a href=https://t.co/duiY2YJIZj>https://t.co/duiY2YJIZj</a><a href=https://twitter.com/hashtag/GoHabsGo?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw>#GoHabsGo</a> <a href=https://t.co/HxRgr53r2p>pic.twitter.com/HxRgr53r2p</a>- Montreal Gazette (@mtlgazette) <a href=https://twitter.com/mtlgazette/status/1656002535105150979?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw>May 9, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src=https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js charset=utf-8> We agree that Dubois would be quite an asset to the Habs. Securing his services before his full autonomy would be even better, but never at that price. The fact that the Quebecer no longer wants to play in Winnipeg and that his interest in Montreal is real greatly reduces his value on the market. The Jets will never get such a generous return for him. If that is the price to pay for Dubois, we might as well take the risk of not signing him as a free agent and let him pursue his career with another team. <blockquote class=twitter-tweet><p lang=en dir=ltr>Holy maple tits what are you guy smoking? <a href=https://twitter.com/hashtag/gohabsgo?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw>#gohabsgo</a> <a href=https://t.co/PlK35zBrLu>https://t.co/PlK35zBrLu</a>- Annik Lemire (@alemiredesigns) <a href=https://twitter.com/alemiredesigns/status/1656253339787571201?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw>May 10, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src=https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js charset=utf-8>
