With the trade deadline fast approaching, trade rumors and speculation are likely to grow in volume. Several Tricolore players could see their path end this season with the organization and one of those players would be Joel Edmundson. According to former head coach Joel Bouchard, the number 44 should be a priority. In his eyes, the Canadiens defenseman could bring in a lot of money in a possible transaction. The new TVA Sports analyst even adds that for him, he absolutely must leave the organization by March 3: Edmundson, for me, he must leave. It's not that I don't like him, but his value is very high. In my opinion, he's the first guy that has to go. - Joel Bouchard The former Laval Rocket driver says the potential moves in the lineup may even be beneficial to the team: Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton are in a mode to clean house a bit, but it doesn't come easy. That being said, they're going to finish the year probably better than you think because the young guys are going to get recalled and other teams are going to take them lightly. - Joel Bouchard It must be said that Bouchard really isn't wrong on this one. Despite the CH's roster slump, the club continues to play excellent hockey, even if Martin St-Louis' team is giving the opposition more trouble than at times during the season when there was almost a full lineup. One thing is for sure, the Habs are not likely to get a better price for the 29-year-old defenseman than they did this year. The latter has had his share of injuries and given the depth on the right side of the defensive line, he becomes a very attractive piece to trade now for Kent Hughes. A file to follow closely in the coming weeks.
