Players are taught the value of mutual respect and the importance of avoiding reckless plays that could result in serious injuries from a very early stage. Hockey Canada has gone as far as to incorporate stop signs on the back of youth uniforms as a reminder for players to abstain from delivering hits. Regrettably, Kurtis Labant from the St. Paul Canadiens Junior B team failed to take this advice. While attempting to defend, Labant recklessly pushed Joel Webb, causing him to tumble onto the ice and violently collide head and neck first with the boards. Joel Webb then called out the league later on on twitter: <q> I was knocked out the other night on a ruthless hit, I have been sitting in a dark room since. I have not left my house. This player is a repeat offender and only received a 3-4 game suspension. Players get suspended more for saying bad words. Do feelings matter more than health? This is pathetic @neajbhl people like this should not be allowed to play hockey. It puts everyone on the ice in danger when someone like that is allowed to play.
