Juraj Slafkovsky is already gaining a reputation as one of the funniest personalities in the NHL. The 18-year-old is always smiling, joking around, and giving great quips in interviews. In an interview with Arpon Basu, Slafkovsky shared that he is now 230 pounds; about 10 pounds lighter than he was during training camp. He was equally reported as being 6'4 before the draft, but is now measuring in at 6'3. From that interview came a hilarious comparison. Funny little exchange with Juraj Slafkovsky today. His weight came up, so I asked what his ideal playing weight would be at 25 once he's done developing if he's already 240 at 18. He said he's not at 240 anymore, more like 230, at least as of two days ago. So I mentioned to him that he's gotten an inch shorter and 10 pounds lighter since being drafted. «At this rate, you'll finish the season at 5-8, 170.» Slafkovsky, laughing: «I'll look like Cole!» Hopefully, Slafkovsky won't shrink any further, as his identity as a player is being a big boy!
